GMT Emezue represented Lanfrica at the MOZFEST ZAMBIA EVENT
The Mozilla Foundation’s Mozilla Festival (MOZFEST) is an annual event that brings together thousands of participants in different professions from across the globe to discuss the future of the internet.
According to Mozilla Foundation’s website, the MOZFEST event “explores the power of AI, data, building community-centered tech alternatives, social justice in tech, and more”. Between November 20 – 21, 2024, the MOZFEST 2024 was held at the Lusaka International Convention Centre, Zambia. One of the topmost highlights of MOZFEST is to invite the creators or companies that own the topmost AI inventions, research, and projects to come to the floor of the event and compete in a 5-minute pitch to the audience. After all the contestants have made their pitches, the audience will be asked to vote in order to determine the project that has the greatest potential for having the greatest positive impact on the people.
In MOZFEST 2024, based on invitation, Prof GMT Emezue represented Lanfrica by pitching the Data Farming techniques that were employed during the NaijaVoices project and Lanfrica won the overall best project in Africa! Check the links below to see GMT making her presentation:
